Coordinator of International Communication and Engagement

 

Serving as a part of a dynamic team supporting campus internationalization initiatives, this colleague will coordinate communications for recruitment, admissions, and student and scholar services, reporting to the Senior Director of International Recruitment, Admissions, and Student and Scholar Services within a newly restructured unit that supports international students from recruitment through graduation. 

 


Duties include but, are not limited to: coordinate communications planning in support of both international recruitment and admissions and robust and inclusive planning for campus and off-campus engagement between international students, scholars and community;  support both on-campus international admissions application review as well as off-campus international recruitment activities, both in-person and in support and preparation for others engaging in international recruitment activities; and perform other duties as assigned. 

 


Requirements: a bachelor's degree and relevant program experience is required. A driver's license and a current, valid passport without restriction to travel are required. A master's degree and at least one (1) year of experience in either communications management/messaging or international student services to include both international admissions and/or international recruitment is preferred. Experience in developing, using, and evaluating marketing materials in support of student recruitment; experience traveling and/or working outside the United States of America, especially that in direct support of international recruitment and admissions; experience with Colleague, T4, Slate systems preferred; experience using recruitment technology and/or agents to improve student service; current or previous active member of NAFSA, Association of International Educators, and/or other international organizations related to areas of activity related to position and ability to communicate effectively in at least one language other than English are all preferred.

Program Coordinator I (AH35/61123025/FTE-S00738P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $35,360.00 (minimum) - $50,394.00 (midpoint).  Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Position may require some evening and weekend work. Overnight travel, including extensive time periods in domestic and/or international travel in support of job roles, will be required.   


Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and relevant program experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to develop and support effective presentations and information exchange with prospective and matriculating international students, parents, and institutional partners and encourage effective coordination with on-campus and off-campus constituencies. Makes consistent and sound decisions based on facts; systematic in prioritizing responsibilities; ability to manage employees to achieve goals; effective analytical, oral and written communication skills. Must deliver superior customer service to students, parents, and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and an appreciation for data. Ability to work productively and efficiently within an organizational/office setting and while traveling domestically and/or internationally in support of job functions. Ability to interpret institutional policies/plans/objectives and communicate that interpretation to others. Computer literacy (MS office suite programs) and willingness and ability to learn additional computer software programs. Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations and an ability to deal sensitively with diverse populations. Ability to manage budgets and work within institutional budgetary guidelines. This position will require work at times in the processing cycle beyond normal work hours. Overnight travel, including extensive time periods outside of the USA, will be required in support of this position.
