About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Academic Support and Student Services, the Associate Director of International Student Services leads the planning and execution of a wide range services to non-immigrant international students at Northeastern University's U.S. regional campuses.

The Associate Director provides support and oversight for all SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) compliance functions and serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). Maintains full regulatory oversight leading to a precise schedule of SEVIS reportable events and registrations as required by current immigration regulations. Manages comprehensive range of international student advising functions and makes referrals to relevant campus support as required. Supports key enrollment management initiatives related to international students.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Director supervises the Regional OGS advising teams, providing direction, training, and workflow management, connecting the team seamlessly to other OGS locations in the U.S. while also managing the unique needs of each campus operation.

This person contributes, along with OGS managers, advisors and staff, to develop, design, and implement programs and infrastructures needed to support and enrich the international student experience at Northeastern. Provide leadership toward the planning and implementation of international student orientation for the regional campuses. Collaborates with the leadership team on the regional campuses, contributing to student success and initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five to eight years of formal experience in international student services as DSO/ARO.
  • Exceptional level of organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff.
  • Exceptional intercultural, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility, creativity, and good humor.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to serve as DSO/ARO.

Desired:
  • Master's degree in international education, or a related field.
  • A proven ability to work effectively with students and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.
  • Experience living abroad.

Strong computer skills in Sunapsis, Banner, etc.
