Assistant Director of International Recruitment & Admissions



The Center for Global Engagement at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the Assistant Director of International Recruitment & Admissions (Program Coordinator I). 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: complete reviews of student applications from international undergraduate freshman, exchange and transfer students;  evaluate applicants' academic credentials, determining authenticity and validity of all respective institutions following established criteria and guidelines; serve as the primary international admissions contact with the Scholarship Office; oversee the certification of all data entry for accepted students who are eligible for scholarships; collect and review Confidential Statements and other financial documents needed to issue initial I20s for admission into the USA; train and supervise graduate assistants; develop and implement communications plan and assist in development of recruitment materials; support social media marketing efforts; process transfer credit evaluations and interpretations from transcripts from international institutions for international and domestic applicants; support international recruitment initiatives; maintain contact with partners and counselors and traveling when appropriate; prepare and interpret data and develop reports; perform other duties as assigned, including providing materials for assessment and participating in training and recruitment initiatives as assigned.

 

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required. Experience evaluating international high school transcripts in accordance with AACRAO standards, English Proficiency Test Scores, and reviewing course descriptions and assigning appropriate transfer credit as outlined by CCU university guidelines, or relevant program experience are required.  A valid Driver's License without restrictions and passport with ability to travel without exceptions is required. A master's degree in International Education, Higher Education, Communications or a similar field is preferred. Two (2) or more years working in a professional, higher education setting and familiarity with international educational systems is preferred. Experience in developing, using, and evaluating marketing materials in support of international student recruitment and experience working with international students and/or traveling outside the USA with successful representation of a US institution of higher education are preferred. Experience using any or all of the following systems: Datatel, Slate and Perceptive is preferred.

SC State Pay Band: 05.  Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.  May require some overnight travel outside the region and/or country to meet departmental needs. 


Required Qualifications

Required Licensure and/or Certification
Valid Drivers License without restrictions and passport with ability to travel without exceptions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Familiarity with marketing and social media concepts that support the expressed mission of an educational or international unit. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to support effective presentations and information exchange with prospective and matriculating international students, parents, and institutional partners and to encourage effective coordination with on-campus and off-campus constituencies; the ability to deliver superior customer service to students, parents, and stakeholders; the ability to prepare and present detailed reports and studies; the ability to interpret institutional policies/plans/objectives and communicate interpretation to others to advance changes in process or policy where appropriate; the ability to work effectively with computer systems (MS Office Suite) and willingness to learn how to work with additional computer software systems as needed.
