Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Global Initiatives and Partnerships, the Assistant Dean of International Student Support operates within the Global Initiatives area and works to provide across-the-board support for the Gabelli School of Business's international students with Cura Personalis as a guiding theme.

Essential Functions
Serves as the primary contact and visible resource for Gabelli School of Business international students with the charge to "personalize the experience" for this student segment, ensuring smooth facilitation of various procedures related to international student paperwork and requirements. Serves as the key Gabelli School liaison to the Office of International Services (OIS). Assists OIS in preparing and presenting orientations and employment sessions targeted to Gabelli School international students and provides other needed support as directed. Collaborates with key Undergraduate and Graduate Fordham units including OIS, Admissions, Advisement, Enrichment, Student Affairs and Enrollment Services for international student enrollment, programming and support. Troubleshoots on behalf of international students when internal and external issues arise. Develops robust orientation and ongoing co-curricular programming at the Gabelli School to build community, academic success and vibrancy among international students in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Advisement (Global Initiatives), Graduate Advisement, Enrichment, OIS, and other key units, Works closely with the Assistant Dean for Advisement (Global Initiatives) with international matriculated students and student exchange. Provides needed and required support for this segment when academic and other issues arise. Develops an evaluation and assessment process to measure international student success. Formulates and reports yearly metrics / goals for continuous improvement. Assists with advising Gabelli School international student organizations. Serves as the key advisor for all international Collaborative Programs and Advanced Certificate initiatives. This includes the smooth facilitation of advisement, registration and program completion for these visiting delegations, as well as liaising with partner schools. Actively participates with all international visiting delegations including MS Collaborative Program, NYC Immersions, Executive Education and meetings with senior leadership from visiting institutions. Works closely with all international students with the goal to display individualized care and to be outward facing. Serves as point of contact and provides resources to families of international students. Completes additional tasks as determined by the Associate Dean of Global Initiatives and Partnerships.

Required Qualifications:
  • Masters degree required. PhD or EdD considered a plus
  • Experience working in Student Advising and International Education
  • An understanding of the international student lifecycle and familiarity with AFCOE, I-20 Issuance, OPT, CPT and STEM
  • Strong communication/presentation skills are required along with a robust cultural mindset
  • Experience in working with multiple University stakeholders
  • Fluency in more than one language a plus
