Assistant Director of Admissions, International
About the Opportunity
The Assistant Director, Admissions designs and implements an effective recruitment strategy within a specified domestic or international travel territory for the purpose of evaluating applicants for admission into the University. The recruitment strategy will include travel within assigned territories to attract and subsequently enroll freshman and transfer students. Responsibilities include counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process, conducting interviews, evaluating applications including international credentials, and making presentations, maintaining relationships with guidance and transfer counselors, while managing the territory throughout the admission cycle. The Assistant Director will work closely with an assigned constituent group to communicate admissions-related information and serve as an advocate of the constituency in the admissions process.
Knowledge of admissions counseling techniques, recruitment programming, travel scheduling, review and evaluation of international credentials, international academic programs of study, student counseling, application evaluation. Ability to make compelling presentations to small and large groups. Proven ability to work independently; extensive experience having lived or traveled abroad; fluency in a language other than English; excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills. Skills and knowledge are normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and one to three years of experience in a student-facing role in college admission, secondary school admissions, or a related experience in another higher education setting required. Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record. The ability to lift and move recruitment materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
